Connect

London Underground’s Connect Project (a massive undertaking with the aim of revolutionising communications throughout the Underground network) has been of particular importance to SRC, as it was the first project we undertook following our inception back in 2003.

That project involved managing survey and design packages throughout the network, and was SRC’s first experience of managing teams of engineers and delivering on its commitments to a demanding client.

SRC demonstrated during this period that it was up to the tasks it set itself, and has had staff within the Connect Project ever since. The Project is now nearing completion, but we still have a few staff managing the final aspects of delivery, and expect to retain a presence within Connect until it is delivered into service.”

Thales SER SLAs

“SRC has a team of engineers in its Crossharbour offices who are responsible for undertaking the safe load assessments necessary to enable Tube Lines Ltd. to design upgrades to its network of Signalling Equipment Rooms on the Jubilee Line.

The team is divided into surveyors and designers; all relevant sites are surveyed and the information delivered to our chartered Civil Engineers, who perform the necessary calculations and prepare reports for delivery to the Client.

Now that this work on the Jubilee Line is almost complete, Tube Lines Ltd. has demonstrated its satisfaction with the quality of SRC’s performance by asking us to continue onto the Northern Line.”

Metronet VLU

“Since 2004, SRC has provided senior engineering resources to Metronet’s Victoria Line Upgrade (VLU) Project. The VLU Project is a very large programme of works touching upon all aspects of the Victoria Line, including rolling stock, stations, signalling, tracks and tunnels.

SRC staff have been instrumental in enabling key aspects of these works to take place within the required time and budgetary constraints. In particular, the project has benefitted from being able to draw on SRC’s wealth of systems engineering, stakeholder management and design management expertise.”

LU Cooling the Tube

“By popular demand, London Underground recently instigated a project to – as the name suggests – cool the Tube.

SRC, sub-contracting to Parsons Brinckerhoff, has begun to get involved in this project by providing specialist systems and mechanical engineering support. We hope to expand our involvement in this project and also that it will form the beginning of a lasting partnership with Parsons Brinckerhoff.”
