SRC has a particular strength in managing and undertaking civil engineering surveys and safe load assessments. We are currently carrying out surveys to assess premises and assets on the Jubilee Line for load-bearing strength and vulnerability; this work has recently been extended to include the Northern Line.
We also have a strong background in the associated field of CMS (Cable Management System) design. Indeed, a team of twelve CMS-specialist engineers have been embedded within the delivery organisation of one of our major clients for a number of years.
Our Civil Engineers are also experienced in providing designs for hoardings and other temporary works on stations, and carrying out category 3 checks on external designs.
Our rail-specialist engineers have a strong track record in developing design and technical assurance documentation across all disciplines. These include:
-
Non-compliance reports (assessments of the existing asset non-compliances found by our engineers)
-
Conceptual Design Statements (describing the standards and legislation, high-level design and assurance framework for proposed works)
-
Detailed designs (detailed design packs complete with marked-up drawings, check certificates, risk assessments and calculations as appropriate)
-
Compliance Submissions (Key assurance documents which demonstrate that a design is compliant (or regularised via concessions) with relevant standards and legislation)
-
Concessions (documents which allow a design to deviate from LU standards where this is unavoidable or fully justified).
